David De Gea: Real Madrid & Man Utd agree £29m deal for keeper

The deal is yet to be completed but it will also involve a cash payment from the Spanish giants, taking the overall value to 40m euros (£29m).
De Gea, 24, has been linked with a move to Real throughout the summer.
United manager Louis van Gaal opted not to pick him until the uncertainty over his future had been resolved.
De Gea's contract is due to expire in 2016 and United had previously indicated they wanted a world-record fee for a goalkeeper, or defender Sergio Ramos in exchange for De Gea.
Instead they will get 28-year-old Navas, who was Costa Rica's goalkeeper at last year's World Cup.

'Music saved us from the streets' - Keche

Hiplife recording duo Keche, made a stern revelation after their performance at OmanFM's carnival this past week.

During a chat with them backstage after they had thrilled fans with back to back hits, the music group made up of Andrew & Joshua shared how music saved them from the 'streets'.

"We would have been into something shady by now if not for music, the hood we grew up in, Tema to be precise, is made up of all sorts of lifestyle & peer pressure. And not born with silver-spoons in our mouth, we had to hustle to make it, which if not for music, honestly we couldn't predict where we would have ended up when it came to making money", the duo stated.

Keche talked about the fact that, although when they started, music wasn't bringing in money but their passion kept them going. "We spent most of our time in various studios, sometimes spending the night in the studios just to get recording time since we didn't have ready cash to pay producers, but that also kept us from trouble and our dream to make it urged us on to work harder".

"We thank God things are much better now although we still striving to make more, our goal is to leave a legacy", Andrew, the other half of Keche added.

Coupled with that, Joshua also stated, "Although we making money, our main purpose is to inspire the younger generation and let them know, there is a way to make money legally and still have fun especially with showbiz, but you need discipline, commitment and a great deal of character to achieve that".

Keche are popularly known for hits like "Aluguntugui", "Pressure" and the more recent slow jam "Diabetes" ft Bisa K'dei.

Keche hinted on a new single they are about to release which features VRMG rapper Edem, "the single will be dropping soon and I can assure you it’s an instant hit".

You need alcohol to enjoy today's music - Nana Fynn laments loud music

Veteran highlife musician Nana Fynn Acquah Harrison known in showbiz as Nana Fynn has rubbished the quality of some Ghanaian songs for its poor sound engineering.

"Unless maybe you've downloaded one or two bottles of beer when you are breezing and you want to dance then you can enjoy dancing” he said in an interview with Hitz FM's Black I on Daybreak.
He says the poorly mixed Ghanaian songs are driving listeners to patronise American R&B and other foreign genres.

The 'Forever' singer says an observation made by renowned music producer that only danceable songs in Ghana can be hits is indictment on our appreciation for good music
Nana Fynn is of the view that this tendency for loud, bashing, club songs is pushing out large audience who prefer measured sound engineering.

“In your quiet moment when you want to reflect, which Ghanaian artiste's song are you going to play?", Nana Fynn is wondering.

He said artistes request that their songs are made very loud to blast like they were dance songs and “most engineers are mixing very loud because that is what the managers are asking for", he added.
Nana Fynn is blaming the trend on the current breed of radio DJ's who play songs as though they were playing in a club.

This practice he says makes it difficult for slow tempo songs to make hits in Ghana. He dismissed the view that loud music is what the audience wants.
“People will take what you give them" Nana Fynn quipped.

I can't stand 'nonsense': Accept me for who I am

Controversial and outspoken radio and television presenter, Afia Schwarzenegger has always been in the news for the wrong reasons and now she wants her fans to accept her for who she is.

In an interview with Showbiz last Friday, Afia said people should accept her for who she is because she would not change.

“This is who I am. Love me with my craziness. It is unfortunate I am in the news often for the wrong reasons but people were not all created the same way,” Afia said with laughter.

According to the mother of three, anyone who loves her for who she is, should be able to tolerate her perceived shortcomings because she is not a hypocrite.

To Afia, it is only hypocrites who pretend to be what they are not and since she is not one of them, she does what pleases her.

“I cannot stand hypocrisy and that is why I am who I am. I know some Ghanaians are not in support of what I do or my lifestyle but that is Afia for you. I cannot keep quiet if I feel there is something I need to straighten up,” she said.

Explaining further why she is often in the news for the wrong reasons, the radio and television presenter made it clear that it was because she could not tolerate any form of nonsense.

According to her, she had never regretted any ‘silly’ thing she ever did because she always knew the consequences.

Asked if her behaviour was a way to attract attention to herself to make her relevant in the showbiz circles, Afia who is planning to come back with her popular television series Kokooko on UTV, said she did not ever do anything to intentionally catch attention but only behaved according to the way she was created.

“Anyone who knows who I am since infancy will tell you how Afia is. This is how I am so it is either you accept me or not,” Afia noted.

Talking about her Kokooko show, Afia said the well-loved comedy programme would hit the screens again from Friday, September 4.

She said the show needed to be rebranded and that was why it went off air.

Swansea's Andre Ayew had everything they were missing

Manchester United looked unbalanced and confused... Swansea's Andre Ayew had everything they were missing

The match-winning pass was delightfully absurd, a mixture of spin and vision and timing.

How fitting that it was used to dismantle a club that was once the epitome of footballing adventure but whose players now fumble around without an original thought in their heads.

Manchester United were predictable, rigidly methodical, slow to adapt — they were everything that Swansea and Andre Ayew were not.

The Ghanaian was the man who turned the game, the son of an African god with something special in his blood, boots and brain. He scored their equaliser after an hour by getting between two centre halves and beating Sergio Romero with an excellent header. Not bad at 5ft 9in.

He made Swansea’s winner five minutes later with a piece of ingenuity, hitting a low chip inside a line of United defenders and perfectly in pace with Bafetimbi Gomis’s run. Gomis then did what Gomis does. Not bad for a pair of Bosman free transfers in successive summers.

But while Gomis has taken a while to get the games that lead to goals - four in four now this season - Ayew’s impact has been immediate and immense. From a position wide on the right, he has scored three, two of which were headers while the other came from some quick thinking against Chelsea. If he isn’t making the early running for signing of the season, then he must be a contender.

How that must rile Louis van Gaal, who has spent £230million on an unbalanced, confused ensemble.

The beauty of Ayew is the mixture of crafty executions and the nous to go for simplicity when simplicity is needed.

His father is Abedi Pele, a three-time African player of the year and a Champions League winner with Marseille. He has two uncles who played for Ghana, one brother, Jordan, who plays for Aston Villa and another, Ibrahim, who plays in their homeland.

A good touch and the instinct for a pass go without saying. But it is also about dirty work. When United surged for their last meaningful attack of the day, it was Ayew who went to ground to stop Memphis Depay on the edge of Swansea’s area.

Depay protested, waved and walked; Ayew got up, sprinted and joined a counter-attack.

Depay showed against Bruges that his talent is real but he has also showed here and on other Premier League grounds that it is rather temperamental. On early inspections, Ayew is more consistent, both in terms of what he delivers and how he approaches the task from a position that can see little of the ball.

When Luke Shaw cleaned him out with a nasty tackle in the second half — first impact was studs on knee, the second was Shaw’s backside on Ayew’s head — the Swansea forward had a whinge but soon after beat the left back to a loose ball. That side of his game will win him fans. The beautiful stuff will earn him admirers and make West Ham regret that they did not think he would be value for hefty wages.

‘Look at the second goal,’ said Garry Monk. ‘It was a great pass and a good timed run. Andre has that. He is a threat goalwise but he has a range of passing as well. You saw the work ethic. That is what we are looking for.’
Van Gaal’s search for that something special has not been nearly so successful
