Shatta Wale is an interesting character - Samini

Iskoki singer Samini revealed in an interview with Delay on the Delay Show on Viasat 1 last year that Shatta Wale is an interesting character.

“Bandana as I will call him, is an interesting character, I mean we all know how he came up, I used to go with him on tours during the days that my song Linda was a hit, he knows I do not hate him.

“The thing is he has succeeded in whatever he began and I am happy for him,” he said.

Commenting on Shatta Wale winning the Vodafone Artiste Of The Year, he said; “He deserved to win on the verge of popularity; I mean it was a good come back, it was a massive come back for and to be fair, he was loud enough to get that.”

As to whether he feels that Shatta Wale has stepped on his fame to gain recognition, he said “I don’t feel that in a negative way. I mean, the dance hall fraternity allows people to take shots at each other for recognition.”

“But usually, it is based on jokes, teases, gimmicks, fabrications so I am not surprised that someone did that and has become as popular as he is today. But it is only when it goes over board that we need to put an end to it, after all, we are all having fun,” he added.
