The Managing Director of Sunyani based Suncity radio, Mr. Ransford Antwi has appealed to Ghanaians to support embattled Black Stars and Torino midfielder, Afriyie Aquah, with prayers. Mr. Ransford Antwi, who is also a co-director of Space f.m, also in Sunyani, made the appeal in the wake of yet another audio recording involving the wife of the Black Stars player, Amanda, which has invited a nationwide condemnation.
The marriage of the duo has seen a lot of controversies, the most recent being a leaked audio recording involving Amanda Afriyie Acquah and a friend which has gone viral across the country. In an interview with Suncity radio, Mr. Antwi, who is a an uncle to Afriyie Acquah urged Ghanaians to support the embattled Black Stars midfielder, rather than criticizing the player and resorting to the use of abusive words against the player and his accused wife.
“All of us must support Afriyie in prayers.” “Every marriage has got issues and Afriyie’s case is just one of such many marriages,”
Mr. Antwi said. “It is better to pray for him (Afriyie) now than to insult and criticize him,” he added. Mr. Ransford Antwi also revealed that he has had a conversation with Afriyie and his agent, Oliver Arthur, after the said leaked audio recording went viral. “I have spoken to him ( Afriyie) and he is in good spirits.He’s a strong boy, mentally and I know he’ll be fine.
He has been training and doing everything as he should do without getting derailed by the viral public debate about his marriage,” Mr. Antwi however stressed the need for all Ghanaians to cease with unsavory comments and destructive criticisms which may eventually break down an emotionally strong son of the Brong Ahafo region and Ghana. According to him,” marriage is a beautiful thing and if it is God’s will that the marriage survives, so be it”.All we can do is to support them with prayers, he stated.
